What We Love: Las Flores Technology class students learn about many different types of technologies in the hands-on classes Roxanne Smathers teaches at Las Flores Middle School. Sixth graders get: An introduction to Word Processing, Animation and Engineering in our elective wheel. 7th and 8th grade can learn about: Computer Aided Design (architecture), Graphics and Animation (cartoon animation),Robotics, Flight Simulation, Digital Sound, MIDI (digital music with a keyboard) Construction (bridge and beam building, along with strength and structure testing) Bio-Med (intro to medical science), Computer Aided Publishing,CNC, Digital Photography (taking and importing pictures, along with Photoshop) Electronic Communications (differences between walkie-talkies all the way to communicating between microwave towers), CO2 Dragsters ,Rocketry, Video Production, Aerodynamics (wind tunnel testing of structures and vehicles) Multimedia Production (enhanced PowerPoint). There is also a full video production course with state of the art equipment. The video production students create, produce and broadcast the news announcements for the campus television station.
